Part 1: Friday night service and Shema section, beginning Jan. 10, for 10 sessions

Join us for a Shalom Supper to learn more about serving displaced persons and to hear the powerful stories about the journey to freedom from refugees and asylum seekers.

These classes are taught by our rabbis, educators and by distinguished scholars and lay leaders within our community. In order to help create a class community, once a series begins, new students will not be allowed to join the class until the next series begins. Attendance will be taken in order to fulfill the requirements for conversion.

This course looks to our sages to answer this important question. Sephardic Jewish textual wisdom speaks to the complex interactions between Jews and non-Jews today in Israel and around the world. Together we will explore Jewish views on racism and intolerance through the perspective of Sephardic sages whose teachings you may never have encountered before. REGISTRATION REQUIRED below. This course invites participants to look anew at the prayerbook, to investigate the Shabbat and weekday prayers, with an eye toward personal meaning.
