Rabbi Steinman will lead a discussion with Rabbi Anna Beroll and Rabbi Amy Cohen about what Jewish tradition teaches about inclusion, new opportunities and things to learn about inclusion, and ways we can widen our inclusion at Temple Beth Shalom. We encourage you to prepare for this session by participating in any of the educational opportunities listed below. However, we welcome all participants to this session regardless of their participation in other sessions. This presentation is for Temple Beth Shalom members.

Part 1: Friday night service and Shema section, beginning Jan. 10, for 10 sessions

These classes are taught by our rabbis, educators and by distinguished scholars and lay leaders within our community. In order to help create a class community, once a series begins, new students will not be allowed to join the class until the next series begins. Attendance will be taken in order to fulfill the requirements for conversion.

This course looks to our sages to answer this important question. Sephardic Jewish textual wisdom speaks to the complex interactions between Jews and non-Jews today in Israel and around the world. Together we will explore Jewish views on racism and intolerance through the perspective of Sephardic sages whose teachings you may never have encountered before. REGISTRATION REQUIRED below. In this 10-session course we will explore Jewish stories where our ancestors pushed back on the authority of their government and society, of their own Jewish leadership, and even of G-d.
