Wedding Ceremonies by Our Clergy
Our clergy are available for the performance of Jewish wedding ceremonies for both members of the temple and non-members. They officiate weddings for couples of all gender identities and sexual orientations. While they will perform Jewish wedding ceremonies for interfaith couples, they will do so only for couples who are committed to creating a Jewish household and, if they wish to have children, raising them in the Jewish tradition. Our clergy do not co-officiate at weddings with clergy of other faiths. If the wedding is on a Saturday (Shabbat), they will be able to officiate at a ceremony that begins no earlier than 6:00 p.m.
While wedding ceremonies are private affairs, couples are invited to celebrate their upcoming wedding with the community by receiving a blessing at an Erev (Evening) Shabbat service or by being called to the Torah (auf ruf) at a Shabbat morning service.
Preparation for the wedding day includes extensive pre-marital counseling and planning for the ceremony. Ceremonies are conducted in an inclusive fashion, allowing for involvement of friends and family if the couple so desires. All ceremonies are planned with the desires of the couple in mind along with due regard for tradition.
While membership includes officiating at weddings, there is a fee for officiating at wedding ceremonies for non-members. For more information, please contact us.
