We will meet for dinner at the food truck park at 7pm, then walk about a half-mile down Barton Springs Road to Peter Pan Mini Golf. If you only join for golf, we expect to arrive at Peter Pan at about 8:30pm. (You can park at Picnic, but you might need to move your car when we go to Peter Pan, where parking is much more limited.)

Reserve this awesome August evening for an outing with your temple family. Fun for adults, but feel free to bring your whole family because Dell Diamond is great for kids. The Round Rock Express is the minor league baseball team affiliated with the Texas Rangers. There’s a playground inside the stadium and a rock wall. Because it's Sunday, the Kid's Fun Zone is free with inflatables and train rides for children outside the ballpark before the game and kids can run the bases after the game.

Meet the Temple Beth Shalom Brotherhood

Join Brotherhood for the 2024-2025 Year Today!

We are a group of guys from our congregationyour friends and peerswho get together to build personal, professional, and spiritual relationships with each other and the temple.

We talk about issues important to men: being married, being single, children, health, finance, cooking, cars, sports, and generally provide a place for venting, inquiry, seriousness, and silliness. Brotherhood is self-powered, not financed by the temple, and is a unique group of friends. See below for a glimpse at “What We Do.”

Ask us to add you to the email list to get notices about our events.

What We Do!

We serve the temple and the greater community. We gather to eat, drink, and be merry. We build friendships and support each other. We grow beyond events into greater engagement with fellow members. Peek at the sampling of what we did over the past year:

  • Meet second Thursdays of the month at the temple. See email for room and instructions. This gathering is casual, purposeful, and open to all Temple members. Ample snacks and beverages!
  • Build the temple sukkah and host gatherings like Sangria in the Sukkah with Sisterhood.
  • Help with the High Holy Day services and other temple events.
  • Gather for somewhat monthly breakfasts/lunches—recently at Another Broken Egg and outside at Foodhead.
  • Project the Super Bowl onto the Social Hall wall with a potluck feast.
  • Enter our Jew-wrench Racing team into the Reuben Kogut Memorial Kosher Chili Cook-off.
  • Break out the Brotherhood bar, Haman’s Watering Hole, to serve wine, beer and cocktails (Whiskey Shamash!) for Chanukah and Purim.
  • Fire up the grill for the annual End-of-School-Year Picnic for 300 people.

Irregular gatherings:

  • Organize social outings and community mitzvah projects.
  • Partner with Sisterhood to organize joint events.
  • Attended a UT women's basketball game.
  • Organized a community Introduction to Krav Maga.
  • Met downtown for Fareground dinner and Chosen Comedy show.

Thank you to all who made Brotherhood a joy this year!
