In these challenging days, it is quite understandable to be feeling a desire for protection, guidance and support. The Hashkiveinu prayer helps us express this, asking for God to shield and shelter us beneath God’s wings and to defend us against many things, including illness and sorrow. We will be singing a setting of the Hashkiveinu prayer called “O Guide My Steps” by Debra Winston and Julie Silver, at online Shabbat services tomorrow night (you’ll be receiving an email soon about how to view our services). Here is a link to hear the melody ahead of time. I hope you’ll join me in singing it on Shabbat as we join in online community.

Hi everyone, every day brings more information that will change our lives, but every day is one day closer to this all being behind us.

Today I read a note from the senior chaplain of the Austin Police Department. He wrote, "As a faith leader myself, I urge you to encourage your congregants to cooperate with these restrictions and, more importantly, to model the faith, peace, and hope that are essential elements of our various faith traditions. In uncertain times, transcendent truths are more important than ever." -Rick Randall

And so tonight, I would love to know from all of you, what are those transcendent truths that are guiding your right now?
