How to Use Zoom

Zoom is the company that the temple uses to provide online meeting spaces.  You can use a desktop computer, laptop computer and even your smart phone.  With just a few steps, you will be able to join whatever temple meeting is meaningful to you.

Step 1: You will receive an invitation to join a Zoom meeting from our clergy or staff in your email.  The invitation will have two options for you to join the meeting: click a link (to join by video), or call a phone number ( to join by audio only). 

Step 2: Choose to join by video or audio-only.

Phone: If you want to just call in (audio only), all you need to do is to call the phone number in the invitation and enter the “meeting ID” (provided in the email we will send you) when prompted. 

Video: If you want to join by video, please follow the remaining steps below.

Step 3: Zoom will ask you to download the Zoom app and launch it—you must accept this if you are to participate with video.  We feel very comfortable using Zoom and have never had a security problem.

Step 4: A window will pop up asking if Zoom can use your video camera. Click​ yes.

Step 5: A window will pop up asking if Zoom can use your microphone and computer for audio. Click yes.

You should be able to join the meeting at this time.  If you move your mouse over the bottom of the box, you’ll see that you can mute yourself by clicking on the microphone.
