Since the time of Ezra, public Torah portions have been read with tonal inflections to convey the drama and the meanings in the text. Come learn about the development of the trope systems we use today for chanting Torah and other sacred texts of the Tanach. Learn what trope (cantillation) marks look like and how they function to bring Torah text to life. Come away with the ability to chant your first trope phrase!
