Shalomites (families with children 5 and under)
Shalomites is our programming geared toward families with children ages 0-5 years old, with a focus on the unique needs and schedules of young families.
Just as we feed our children’s bodies with nourishing food, we must fill their Jewish souls with songs, rituals and blessings. Our tot families get to know one another and the Temple Beth Shalom community during holiday celebrations and social gatherings throughout the year.
Your children will love being Jewish and you will make lifelong friends with other new parents! Our Tot Shabbat services are open to the community, including non-members of Temple Beth Shalom!
Here's what Shalomites do:
- a 30-minute Tot Shabbat the first Friday of each month.
- Torah Tots is a monthly educational program for ages 2-5 years that introduces our children to learning about Jewish life before they enter Sunday School.
- Shabbatfulness, a musical, meaningful, and movement-filled young-family celebration. Shabbatfulness takes place one Saturday a month and is geared toward children ages 2 years old through 3rd grade and their parents and siblings.
- Holiday activities involving arts and crafts, children's music, and condensed child-lingo liturgy (Sing-Along Tot Seder; Tot High Holy Day Services)
