Editor's Note:
Temple Beth Shalom is currently in the
process of updating our

During the interim, the
Shalom Message will have a temporary
layout.
In addition, you will now receive the newsletter on the

SIMCHAT TORAH
Come and join the fun on Simchat Torah, Wednesday, October 6 at
6:30 pm. The fun begins with marching with the Torah (with
flags!), then we will consecrate our newest religious school
children and we will unroll the Torah from beginning to end, from
Creation to Eretz Yisrael. We will also have an awesome oneg
with tasty treats for all! Our Simchat Torah celebration has
something for everyone, so let's all get together and celebrate
Torah, God's gift of love to the Jewish people.

CONVENTION

TBS BOARD ENCOURAGES CONGREGANTS TO ATTEND CONVENTION IN SAN
ANTONIO
NOVEMBER 5 - 7, 2004
The URJ Southwest Council Regional Biennial Convention is fast
approaching. We want Temple Beth Shalom to have a strong
presence
with the convention being "right in our backyard" a
short drive
down I-35 in San Antonio. It will be an amazing
learning
experience with opportunities to attend seminars on a
wide
range of topics and to listen to national figures from the
Reform
movement. You'll also celebrate Shabbat with
hundreds of other
Jews from around our region. For more
information please call
Lynne or Steve Gellman at 345-1566, or
call the URJ toll-free
at (888) 234-8242. The cost of
registration and meals is $275,
and the hotel is
$99/night. There are options of attending
single days and
not the entire weekend at a reduced amount.
TBS has funds
available to help defray the cost of attending.
The amount
available will depend on the number we have attending.
For
information on funding, please call Lynne or Steve.
