Our Mission

Our mission is to continue the creation of a new Reform Jewish Congregation in Austin, Texas which promotes worship, spirituality, lifelong education, social justice, community outreach, personal growth, and the nurturing support of life-cycle events.

Long-Range Plan for Temple Beth Shalom, Austin, Texas

  • Goal 1 - To grow as an open, welcoming community that respects its past, enjoys its present and creates its future while adhering to its original mission statement.
  • Goal 2 - To retain and enhance the inclusive and meaningful Jewish religious practices established at Beth Shalom.
  • Goal 3 - To continue and enhance a program of social involvement and action that closely links Beth Shalom to the Jewish community and the greater Austin community.
  • Goal 4 - To develop an outstanding program of Jewish education that lets the congregation and the community broaden and deepen their understanding of Judaism.
  • Goal 5 - To develop and maintain a mutually fulfilling partnership between the membership, the lay leadership and the religious professional(s) as well as the outside community.
  • Goal 6 - To continue as the Reform Jewish presence on the Dell Jewish Community Campus and work with the campus to develop the physical facilities the congregation needs.
  • Goal 7 - To remain a fiscally responsible organization that is open to all and that is voluntarily supported by the willing contributions of its members.
