The Temple Beth Shalom Sisterhood coordinates our weekly Onegs. Members take joy in bringing a taste of something sweet to welcome Shabbat.
** 2009-2010 Oneg Schedule is Available ** Oneg Instructions for Friday Nights WHAT TO BRING (enough for 80-90 people): Coordinate and divide up the food contributions below with your co-hosts for the Oneg (that is, someone bring the fruit platter, another bring the sweets, etc.)
(* A challah and ¼ sheet cake will be provided by the Temple if a Bat/Bar Mitzvah is noted as scheduled on the date you are hosting. Please figure these items into your food quantities. Also, for this Oneg, flowers will be provided for the serving table.) NOTE: NO PRODUCTS CONTAINING NUTS are allowed. Temple Beth Shalom has a member that is highly allergic, even to airborne peanut particles. ARRIVALArrive 30 minutes before the start of services. You may drive to the back of the building, where the loading area is. The entrance to the kitchen is inside the loading area. WHERE TO FIND OUR SUPPLIESTemple Beth Shalom Oneg supplies are in the storage closet that is directly across from the kitchen, behind the community hall stage. The entrance to this area is between the community hall and the kitchen. Facilities should unlock the closet prior to services. If it is locked, ask someone from the Hospitality Office for the key. In the supply closet there are coffee supplies, plastic cold cups, styrofoam hot cups, spoons, forks, napkins, platters, a challah cover, candlesticks, candles, Kiddush cup, and wine. The coffee pot is located in the kitchen on shelves over the sink area. NOTE: If any supplies are running low or missing, please contact Jill Rice at jrice@bethshalomaustin.org. SET UPDrinks (on the small table near an outlet, so you can plug in the coffee pot): Prepare the coffee in the kitchen (30 cups, instructions below) and put it on the table closest to the kitchen in the community hall. Use the outlet behind that table to plug in the coffee maker.
Directions for making coffee: Use 1/2 cup of coffee grounds per 10 cups of water. A styrofoam coffee cup holds 1.5 cups of ground coffee which is sufficient for 30 cups of coffee. For the Bimah:
Food (on the large tables): Cold items may be kept in the large refrigerator in the kitchen until time for the Oneg. The right side of the fridge is ours to use.
Please wait until the Kiddish and Motzi are recited before finishing the set-up with items that are still kitchen. CLEAN UPAfter the Oneg, please assist Lydia (the babysitter) to clean up. Facilities does not do this for us. (It costs extra.)
Thank You! |
